AutPlay Therapy

This is a play therapy and behavioral therapy approach to working with children and families affected by autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, dysregulation issues, and other neurodevelopmental disorders.

This therapy method assists children and youth to express themselves at their own developmental level and work through their emotional and behavioural difficulties. Play can include non-directive (child takes the lead) and directive play (therapist takes the lead).

Family Systems Therapy

Family Systems Therapy

All members of a family take on a role and the family as whole functions as a system. Family Systems therapy helps families address different issues that may be affecting the dynamics of the family. This therapy is incorporated throughout other models used.

CBT is a therapy that focuses on the interplay of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviour. It helps you develop new patterns of thinking in order to better manage stressful situations or specific challenges.

This is a CBT approach to help children and youth process traumatic events along with their caregivers. It allows for the development of helpful ways of managing their feelings and behaviours. It incorporates some components of Family and Exposure Therapy.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy

This therapy focusses on an individual’s current circumstances. It is intended to be goal directed and solution oriented in order to help with creating a better-quality future. It highlights the use of a strengths-based approach while problem solving.

Mindfulness practice helps to focus on the hear and now and allows you to truly experience the present moment. You can then integrate that awareness into your everyday life and fosters different relationships with our thoughts, feelings, and memories.

Applied Behaviour Analysis

ABA uses behavioural principles to either increase or decrease specific behaviours. Several ABA programs use similar key components like teaching for generalization of a specific skill across all settings and the use of positive/negative reinforcements.
